Initially a child may find it challenging to distinguish between the left and right handprint as well as a left and right footprint.  Once he then places his hands or feet on the examples, he begins to understand the differences.  Visual discrimination and positioning already starts developing and a child’s brain can start making sense of direction when a letter or number needs to be orientated on paper.

Spatial perception is an important skill that is stimulated when a child rebuilds the hand- and footprint patterns from the two-dimensional cards.
